Video calls and private livestreams: how they work, and who gets in
Video calls and private livestreams are the live side of the site, and the seller decides everything: who gets in, for how long, and when it ends. Here is how each one works, what a buyer needs, what is allowed on camera, and how paying for a call works.
Photos and videos are how most people start here. At some point, though, a buyer wants to see the real thing: a seller on camera, right now, talking back. That is what video calls and private livestreams are for.
If you have never used either, the rules can feel a little back to front, because the seller decides nearly everything: when the camera goes on, how long it stays on, and who gets to watch. Once you know that, the rest is easy. Here is how both work, whether you are the one on camera or the one watching.

Video calls: one seller, one buyer
Think of a call as something that grows out of a conversation, never out of nowhere. The seller and the buyer are already chatting, they agree a call, and then the seller presses the camera button at the top of the chat. A buyer cannot ring a seller. If you are a buyer and would like a call, just ask.
When the seller starts the call, they pick how long it will last, anywhere from one minute to thirty. The buyer's screen rings, both of you join, and the clock runs. When the time is up, the call ends on its own for both of you, so nothing runs over by accident. Want more? The seller can simply start another one.
Three things people are often surprised by:
- Nobody else can join. A call is strictly one to one, and sellers cannot call each other.
- A seller is told very little. If a buyer cannot take calls, perhaps they have not finished the ID check, do not have Toe-to-Toe, or one of you has blocked the other, the seller sees only that the call cannot go through. Your plan and your verification are your business.
- One live thing at a time. A seller who is hosting a livestream cannot start or take a call until it ends.
Settle it in the chat first
The calls that go well are the ones agreed before anyone presses a button. It takes a minute and saves a lot of awkwardness. Before the seller rings, agree on:
| Agree on | Why |
|---|---|
| When | The ring reaches a buyer only while they have the site open |
| How long | The call ends at the chosen length, even mid-sentence |
| What it costs, if anything | Agreed before the call, not argued about after it |
| What is on and off camera | The seller sets the limits once, so nobody has to say no live |
Everything you agree stays on record in the chat. If something goes wrong and you report it, a person reads that conversation and can act. Nobody can do that for a deal made on another app.
Private livestreams: one seller, a chosen audience
A livestream is a seller on camera for a group of buyers at once, with a members-only chat running next to the video. It is private by design. There is no public list of streams, and nobody can wander in uninvited: the seller picks the audience, one person at a time.
If you are a buyer
There are two ways in, and both need a completed ID check and Toe-to-Toe:
- You are invited. A seller can invite buyers from their followers or by username. You get a notification when you are invited, and another one the moment the stream goes live.
- You ask. When a seller goes live, a card appears in the live feed, in the following feed of everyone who follows them, and on their profile. Tap Request to join on the profile, and the seller decides.
If a seller does not let you in, you will not get a rejection, and it is rarely personal: most sellers invite the buyers they already know first. The easiest way into the room is to follow the sellers you like. Followers are the first list a seller sees when inviting.
If you are a seller
Open the Live tab on your profile, give the stream a title, and choose a length between 15 minutes and 2 hours. You start backstage, where only you can see the picture, so you can fix your light and your angle before anyone else sees you. Go live when you are ready. If you have not gone live within half an hour, the stream closes quietly and you can start a fresh one.
Once you are live:
- Invite and approve. Pull in buyers from your followers or by username, and approve or deny requests as they come in. If some invitations do not go through, you are told how many, not who, because a buyer's plan and verification are private.
- Remove anyone, at any time. From the whole stream, or from the chat only. A removed viewer is out immediately, and asking again does not bring them back.
- Keep the title plain. It is limited to 80 characters, and contact details or other messaging apps in it are refused, as they are everywhere else on the site.
- It counts. Every livestream you host earns 15 points on the weekly leaderboard. Restarting the same stream does not earn them twice.
Hosting costs you nothing, like everything else on the seller side. The stream ends on its own at the length you chose, nothing is recorded, and the chat closes with it and is deleted 30 days later.
What is allowed on camera
The same as in a gallery, and nothing more. The Content Rules apply word for word, so the short version is:
- Feet, ankles and lower legs, bare or in shoes, socks, tights or everyday clothing. Your face can be in or out of shot, as you like.
- Only you. Nobody else on camera, ever.
- No nudity and no sexual activity, real or simulated, of any kind.
- No recording, and nothing about meeting in person, not even as a hint.
Buyers, this is for you too. Asking for something on that list is the fastest way to have a call ended and a report sent.
Paying for a call or a stream
Starting a call or hosting a stream costs a seller nothing, and we take nothing from what a buyer pays. Whether a seller charges for their time on camera is entirely up to them. Buyers pay sellers directly, with a method both agree on, just as for photos. We never hold the money, so we cannot reverse a payment either. The usual care applies:
- Buyers: start with a short call when you are new to a seller, and never pay a "verification fee" or anything to "unlock" a call. The only thing a call needs on your side is Toe-to-Toe.
- Sellers: ring once the money shows in your own account. A screenshot is not a payment.
- Both of you: keep the deal in the chat here. Messages asking for gift cards, cryptocurrency or an advance fee are flagged for a person to look at, and a reported conversation is read by one.
The red flags post covers the scams that tend to turn up around payment.
Being straight about this
A few limits, so that none of them comes as a surprise:
- Only sellers can start a call. That is deliberate: the person on camera decides when the camera goes on. It does mean a buyer has to ask, and then wait.
- No ring when the site is closed. A call reaches a buyer only while Allison Feet is open on their phone or computer. Agreeing a time in the chat solves it.
- We can stop recording on our side, not on yours. The site records nothing, and recording a call or a stream breaks the Terms, but we cannot stop someone filming their screen with a second phone. What we can do is act on a report against an account tied to a verified ID, and a banned member cannot come back with the same ID. Sellers: show nothing live that you would not be comfortable seeing again.
- Live time is capped on purpose. Two hours for a stream, thirty minutes for a call. Live video is the most expensive thing the site runs, and the limits are what keep it running.
Where to start
Buyers: browse the seller directory, follow the sellers you like, and read the guide to buying for what is free and what is not. Buyers who join during launch can claim a free month of Toe-to-Toe by email, with nothing to post or share: the giveaway rules explain how. The FAQ covers the rest.
Sellers: verify, upload, and open the Live tab whenever you feel ready. Everything above costs you nothing.
Agree it in the chat, then press call.
